IN MEMORIAM
This website is dedicated to Dr. Hughes' son, Greg, who exhibited
many ADHD characteristics as a young toddler. By age 15 he
was diagnosed with AD/HD and placed on stimulant medication,
but refused treatment -- it was too late! He ran away from home and became further involved with
the drug culture. Over the years his addiction became stronger ... his
family lost count of the number of drug rehabilitation
programs he entered. Eventually it cost him his health and finally his life.
Greg was very intelligent, and to the very end was
cognizant of his problems. He was enrolled at the University
of Michigan and was interested in psychology. He tried very hard to beat
the substance abuse, but it resurfaced from time-to-time. It
would get the best of him rendering him
powerless.
Greg is the father of two wonderful children.
Sara is now 26 and hold a fine arts degree and teaching
certificate. She has become a art teacher at a middle
school. Zach is age 22 and attends the university.
Neither followed their father's drug propensity. Both moved
in the direction of being food and health conscious.
Dr. Hughes will continue to help save children with the
attention disorders that - as in her son's case - endanger
their lives.
