Confidentiality
Florida State Law protects you from the
disclosure of information about you. My profession,
under the Law of Florida, prevents me from repeating anything
that you disclose, without written permission from
you. These laws support the privacy of what is
discussed in counseling / therapy, in other words, the 'confidentiality' of counseling/therapy.
You need to understand that some
areas of information are not protected such as self-harm or
harm to another (others). You and I will go
over these areas in a written document, and you will
receive a copy after we have signed an agreement.
