Have Purpose
Dream ...Have Purpose
Live
*What is Psychotherapy? Many
individuals are afraid of therapy and think it is going to be intrusive and
frightening. A skilled therapist helps the patient understand that it is an
educational process to insight, awareness, understanding*,
interpretation, associating the issues/obstacles leading to resolution.
Psychotherapy can be individual, group,
couples, or family. Making couples and family group educational and fun is
the goal.
Goals / outcomes: Self-validation with
energy / courage / strength / determination to make change happen. Example tobacco
cessation or abstaining from opiate abuse. Another example is anger
management; i.e. learning to express feelings appropriately / acceptably.
*understanding relationships, cause and
effect, resolution, etc. and even understanding the chemistry of the brain
and how the brain works. How the prefrontal lobe of the brain can be causing
processing problems in children and adults. Is the activity of the
prefrontal lobe too slow or too fast? This deregulation can be corrected.
Psychobiological: This concerns psychological issue(s) as it / they relate to the biological / physical / medical problems.
Psychodrama: Practicing or rehearsing
special references to presenting symptoms
What is a 504 Accommodation Plan?
It is mandated by federal law for children and adults with disabilities....
it is part of the Disabilities Act ... it occurs in all states in the USA.
504 Accommodations particularly helps those with AD/HD where they may need
extended time on FCATs or any test, special seating away from distractions,
shortened assignments, tutoring, etc.
*What is a MacKay Scholarship? It is
a Florida funded scholarship which allows children to be enrolled in a private
school where there is more consideration given to individual learning
according to the child's skill level and rate of learning. Children who are
in ESE special education programs or who have been diagnosed with AD/HD or
Bipolar or Anxiety (school refusal, for example) are eligible.

Most disorders are characteristic of inattention - loss
of focus - selective focusing - procrastination - avoidance - task
incompletion which complicates the primary disorder - often restlessness and
boredom..... 'related' disorders' may be symptoms of AD/HD, Bipolar
Disorder, Aspergers, Anxiety (SAD), Depressive Disorders, and Posttraumatic
Stress Disorder, etc.
(PTST) Posttraumatic Stress Disorder complicates AD/HD
Posttraumatiac Stress Disorder is often diagnosed when
major
health problems reoccur and result in permanent
disability.....
Posttraumatic Stress Disorder is a result of severe
neglect,
abuse, horrific events, persistent stress, undiagnosed
or
misdiagnosed mental health issues.............
